We the People
Why is Mike Running for NH House?
- A commitment to service runs deep in his family. His mother, Mariette Facques, founded the incredible SHARE program over 45 years ago, while his father, Mo, was a highly respected history teacher and renowned two-time championship boys basketball coach at Milford High School.
- He is dedicated to carrying forward his parents’ legacy of service to the beloved community of Milford and the state of New Hampshire.
- Mike’s diverse experiences have equipped him to serve Milford effectively in this role:
- Over 25 years of experience as a high school civics teacher, emphasizing the importance of our nation’s founding documents.
- Prioritizing people over party affiliations, recognizing that our founders envisioned representatives serving “We the People” rather than partisan interests.
- A deep passion and understanding of our founders’ vision for both the United States and New Hampshire, rooted in a commitment to limited government and individual liberty.
- A proven track record of uniting individuals from a variety of backgrounds to work towards common goals.
Mike’s Priorities
Education
As a civics teacher in a NH public high school for over 25 years and a father of four kids who have attended public schools, I can speak with authority on this topic.
- Recognizing the crucial role of parents in their child’s education, I advocate for empowering them to choose the educational path that they believe will best serve their child’s needs and aspirations.
- I pledge to return schools to a focus on high standards both academically and behaviorally.
- I will work to make sure schools are teaching students HOW to think and not WHAT to think.
- I guarantee to work to give students the opportunity to explore their passion and interest after high school whatever that might be from college to the trades.
- I will advocate for practical, state-wide policies, such as ensuring that only biological girls compete in high school sports, keeping parents informed if their child is exploring different sexual identities, and requiring schools to provide honest answers to parents about their children’s activities and well-being.
Immigration
- Uphold the rule of law, inspired by my father’s journey as a legal immigrant.
- Oppose sanctuary cities and benefits for undocumented immigrants.
- Advocate for funding to secure the northern border and prevent the entry of terrorists and fentanyl.
Energy
- Advocate for an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy for New Hampshire.
- Reduce regulations to encourage energy innovation.
- Oppose government subsidies that favor specific energy programs.
Inflation & Economy
- Remove burdensome regulations on NH businesses to unleash the free market and support innovation for entrepreneurs.
- Vote against any tax increases for NH individuals, families, or businesses.
- Vote against any efforts to impose an income or sales tax.
- Remove burdensome regulations and subsidies on NH businesses to unleash the free market and innovation for entrepreneurs.
- Vote against any tax increases for NH families and businesses.
- Vote against any efforts to impose an income or sales tax.
Housing
- Recognize housing affordability challenges due to limited supply and high demand.
- Work to reduce regulations to increase housing development.
Guns
- Enforce the second amendment.
- Enforce existing laws before considering new restrictions.
Abortion
I support the current NH law:
- Restricts abortion after 6 months of pregnancy unless the mother’s life is in danger or there’s a fatal fetal anomaly.
- While the NH Democrats, including all of my opponents, continue to push for abortion in the 6th, 7th, and 8th months of pregnancy paid for by our tax dollars, I will oppose their extremism. This position is supported by the majority of Granite Staters who also want our laws to support them in growing their families, saving for their children and enjoying their parental rights. Delivering pro-family policy will be my focus in Concord.
