About Mike

Mike has lived in NH  for almost his whole life.  He is blessed to run to serve his community and the “Live free or die” state.

Mike grew up in Milford and attended Milford schools– MASH class of ‘86. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire and earned  a graduate degree from Boston University.

Mike was a founding member of a local high school and  served as a civics teacher for over 25 years.  Mike enjoyed sharing his passion for our founding documents with his students. He has always tried to model the philosophy that democracy is not a “spectator sport” and that all citizens are responsible for working to keep our democracy strong.

His commitment to the youth in the community propelled him to serve as a basketball coach, winning back-to-back championships and having the honor of winning the 2003 Division 2 Coach of the Year. Mike has also served as a volunteer coach for many of his children’s sports teams.

Mike’s passion for serving the community is in his DNA. His parents Moe and Mariette Facques were both dedicated to making a difference in the Milford community. His mother started and worked tirelessly for the SHARE program which helped the community’s underserved population. Mike’s father taught U.S. History for over 30 years in Milford and served as a two-time Milford Spartans boys basketball championship coach winning titles in 1972 and 1975.

Mike’s son Will is an officer in the U.S. Army.

Mike is tremendously proud of his children’s continued commitment to service. All four of his kids believe the words of Martin Luther King “Everybody can be great — because anybody can serve”. His son Will is an officer in the U.S. Army and deployed in Grafenwoehr, Germany. Mike welcomes prayers and thoughts to keep Will and all U.S. military safe. His three daughters- Sloan, Delaney, and Sammy are in college and high school.

Mike now helps individuals ensure their retirement needs by working for Bankers Life and Casualty.

Mike would be honored to represent the people of Milford in the NH Legislature while helping to maintain what makes the Granite State unique.
